Quotes help us to think about some important things in life.
Sometimes we get overwhelmed with emotions and then it is nice to be reminded that what we feel or think is ok.
Or even sometimes a quote can show us that we were handling wrong. We can all learn and try to be a better version of our selves.

We all have days we feel down and alone. Stress, lonelyness, anxiety, pain... some suffer from mental disorders, selfharm, aaddictions, autism... We need to help each other, by listening and being there for one another!

Enjoy a quote every day here on my page. (as long as I can find quotes and nice LEGO related pictures of course!)

Thank you Samsofy for letting me use your pictures to add quotes to them.

What a fantastic design!

Yvonne (designer of this creation) got inspired by some other toys to create this beautiful project in LEGO bricks. Details are stunning. She gives a full explanation on her LEGO IDEAS profile.

We are somehow shocked by the negative replies of some AFOLs who try to bash Yvonne in public on an official LEGO platform.
AFOLs should enjoy their hobby and be proud of friends or strangers that enjoy the same passion.
Getting inspired by things we see in every day life is just the way it goes when creating a MOC.
Taking each other down is not what we are supposed to do, and certainly not on social media. This behavior sadly is something we see more often these days.

That being said, I hope Yvonne gets enough votes and that this set could potentially be a set we can all buy in the future!Looking to add an industrial touch to your LEGO City? Then check out today's LEGO Ideas Staff Pick "Mining Site" by Ymarilego.

Inspiration can be found in everything! If you look at a miniature toy building and find inspiration in it, then you go ahead and follow it! If you look at a temple in Thailand and make pictures of it to build it with bricks, then that is another form of inspiration. For me both are equal! The beauty of it is what you do with the inspiration, how you put the bricks together, the colors used, the elements used, ... I love this design and I hope it can get the 10.000 supporters!

So this has nothing to do with LEGO... but it is SO inspiring!

If I see all this love and commitment, I feel so happy.
Makes me wonder why some people are always looking for the bad instead of the good things. Just enjoy life, and embrace the time you have with your loved ones. Don't waste a second on negative thoughts or behavior.

CANCER SURVIVOR DAY

There’s an epidemic in the world today, one that seeps into every level of the social strata. Education is no protection, nor is wealth, and while there are ways to reduce the possibility that you’ll be one of the almost 2 million people per year that are affected by it, the causes of this plague are only poorly understood. Every year 450 men and women out of every 100,000 are diagnosed with one of the dozens of kinds of cancer, and 171 men and women die from it. Cancer Survivor Day is for those who have faced off against this most dread of ailments and risen again to live full happy lives.

Cancer Survivor Day was established to recognize and celebrate those who have battled cancer and won, and to help bring hope to those still battling this terrible disease. While the numbers above sound terrible, there is more hope than they imply, in the US Alone there are 14.5 million people who have beat or are living with cancer and 32 million around the world. This is a great success, and the survival rate gets higher with every passing year.

Cancer hangs over the minds and hearts of most people as a death sentence, and the reaction in saying someone you know has it is palpable. But both those suffering from Cancer and their families need to know that it is far from helpless. Treatment is getting more effective, and there are groups around the world that get together to help the Cancer patient and their families make it through the very long and hard road that is treatment and recovery.

Cancer Survivor Day is also dedicated to helping to raise funds and awareness for cancer research and treatment. The fight isn’t over, in fact, it’s just heating up and cancer is in the cross-hairs. With the efforts of organizations like National Cancer Survivor’s Day Foundation and the American Cancer Association, a cure for cancer is just around the corner.

Thank you Smsofy for letting me use your pictures to add quotes to them.

I just realized how lucky I am!

I am me, with all my imperfections, but also my strengths.
I step, I run, I fall down and I get up ... I'm being pushed down by others some times ... but I keep on going!
I do not give up!

Despite the changes that we all have to go through, the changes that frighten us or upset us, how difficult they even might be, there are people who go through these changes anyway ... that are the people who believe in something better ... in something stronger for the future!

People who are not afraid and want to work on tomorrow, with the knowledge of yesterday ...

These are all people who first and foremost have an enormous love for themselves and so in second place for the other.
These people are not afraid of imperfections, but they see that they make us just as beautiful, and give us opportunities to grow ...

We grow every day. Our spirit, our soul, is enriched by the things we experience ... and we use this knowledge so that we can become even greater tomorrow than today.

Thank you to everyone who builds with me on tomorrow!

Thank you to everyone who feels confident and looks straight ahead.

You are the bright spots in the darkness!

HAPPY DONUT DAY!

Everyone loves donuts, there’s something about that delicious deep fried treat that brings a smile to everyone’s face. Donut day celebrates this wonderful treat, it’s history and a special holiday brought into being to honor a special group that arose during World War I. One of the little-known facts about the Donut is exactly what that well-known shape is called, read on, and maybe you’ll find out!

History of the Donut Day
The history of the donut isn’t clearly known, but what is known is that their iconic look started making an appearance in the United States in the mid-1800’s. Rumor has it a gentleman by the name of Hanson Gregory invented them, out of a distaste for the undercooked centers and greasiness of the existing shapes and options. The shape was said to be obtained by punching a hole in the center with a tin pepper box.

There are many varieties of donuts outside of that most commonly known, including twist donuts, fritters, and the hugely varied and popular filled donut. Filled donuts come in a huge variety, including the very popular Devil Dog, a chocolate covered delight filled with a rich cream. Glazed donuts filled with all sorts of delicious fruit, with raspberry being a runaway favorite throughout the world, and lemon filling being an equally popular.

No Tobacco Day was established with the goal of raising awareness of the dangers of this habit, and the thousands of lives it costs every year. Tobacco used to be considered an innocuous little treat for the civilized man, and even went so far as to be touted as healthy by business and (doubtless) paid off doctors to help promote it for use. A hundred years and millions of deaths later it’s become undeniable that tobacco use is one of the primary killers of people all over the world.

So if you’re one of the millions of people who light up a cigarette, step out for a cancer stick, or have a smoke, then let No Tobacco Day be your chance for a freer, healthier future. The average smoker spends around $4000 a year on cigarettes, imagine what you could do with that kind of money! That’s enough for a nice cruise in the Caribbean, a powerful new gaming computer, or an entire wardrobe of amazing clothes! No Tobbaco Day can be your step towards economic freedom as well!

So some people (let's say majority of our society) have strong opinions on things they don't even know. Does that bother you as well?
I want to have facts and I base my opinion on what I experience, and not what others experience or think... I do not want to be a cow in the crowd, just following the majority... nah!

So todays quote is for those who don't take the effort to really experience things, and instead make negative assumptions right away.

Have a nice day, and enjoy all the beauty!

AMNESTY INTERNATIONAL DAY

Human rights have been a hot topic in local and international politics since the 1960’s. Whether fighting for the right to marry the person of our choice or to end abuses like child labor all over the globe, Amnesty International has been in the trenches trying to make the world a better place. Amnesty International Day works to promote human rights and raise awareness of their abuses and how our choices affect them every day.

Amnesty International was first established in the month of July 1961 in London. Peter Benenson, an English labor lawyer was inspired to establish this organization after learning of two Portuguese students being imprisoned for seven years after “having drunk a toast to liberty.” Together with Eric Baker of the Religious Society of Friends, and numerous other intelligentsia, including academics, writers, and lawyers, they composed an article called “The Forgotten Prisoners” that would see publication in The Observer in May of 1961. This led to an appeal which quickly grew into an organization that would work to change the world and see that everyone would be entitled to a set of basic human rights.

The tireless efforts of this organization have since been central to revealing violations of human rights and working to change government policy as relates to their protection. Their work wasn’t always popular, with its members being accused of everything from espionage (1980’s Russia) to protectors of the criminal element (the Moroccan Government). In truth, they are champions of the downtrodden and the oppressed and work every day to alleviate the struggles of people everywhere facing famine, the trials of war, and those seeking asylum.
